My name is Courtney.  I am 15 years old.  I have been training dogs for a couple years now.  I got into training dogs because my sister Emily started training dogs a couple of years ago.  I went to all of the training sessions and competitions with Emily, so my parents bought me my own puppy to train, Ram.  I would help Emily with her training before I got Ram.  I helped with things like throwing dockens, setting up "practice" hunt tests, and just with basic training.  Now we train together helping each other out.  I take my dog hunting with me when I go, which is a lot, because I love to hunt and shoot guns.  If you have ever trained a dog you will know it is not a thing that everyone can do and if you have ever ran a dog in a hunt test, it can get pretty intense when you are at the line going for another pass.  Over the summer Ram and I got our Started Title in UKC, a pass in the AKC Junior level and our WC.  During the winter Ram and I entered the Ultimate Air Dog compentition (UAD).  So far Ram's best jump has been over 12 feet.  There are different levels for this compentition as well, but Ram and I are learning the different parts of it.  The people at these events are very, very nice.  Dog training is definitely a different sport, but I LOVE it!

Hey,hey. I'm Emily, also known as Chaps' trainer and handler. I'm 13 years old and I love dog training. I'm Courtney's  little  sister. I've been training dogs  for about three years now. I originally started with an great trainer, who taught me how to train dogs. I started training dogs because I love hunting and being outdoors. Along the way I've got so much great advice from my friends, acquaintance's, and family. It is so easy and fun to  make friends at any dog event. When I train Chaps, I don't do it to win or to beat other trainers, I do it to have fun and let Chaps have fun. So far I have my Started Title in U.K.C., 3 passes in A.K.C. Junior, and my W.C. I hope to go so much farther with Chaps and any other dog that will come into my life. I am so glad I have parents to let me do this and support me  and that so many other people do too. For some people dog training can be very challenging, but I have inspiration to help me. That would be my 11 year old black lab who was a free dog very similar to Marley from Marley and Me. They all said he would calm down at age four but he didn't till age 11. I grew up with him and no dog could replace him. Truman (black lab), Chaps, and Ram aren't the only dogs I've had. I've also had two rottwilers come and go. Every dog I meet will never be forgotten. I LOVE DOG TRAINING!
